All about Ink Ribbons & Rollers

We supply a range of ink ribbons which can be used for Cash Registers & POS Receipt Printers. They are all high quality products and we use only the best manufacturers and distributors to ensure consistancy of our supply.

When we talk about ink ribbons & rollers, it means that you need to be using a bond or plain paper rolls (not thermal).

Older style cash registers use either an ink ribbon or ink roller depending on the model.

Receipt Printers that use ink ribbons are normally referred to as Dot Matrix or Impact printers. They use a Dot Matrix print head which consists of many tiny metal pins which impact against the ink ribbon to press against the paper roll to create the text. This is common for kitchen printers using plain paper available in single, duplicate & triplicate paper rolls. Cafe's, Restaurants and Bistro's generally use a black & red ink ribbon to separate main line items from condiment and preparation instructions.
