All about SplitAbility Receipt Printers

When choosing the best receipt printer for SplitAbility Point of Sale (POS) Software, you must ensure it is compatible. 

SplitAbility POS Software uses a cloud based POS Receipt Printer and connects via Ethernet / LAN Cable although wireless options are available (please contact our team for more information). At this stage, Bluetooth Receipt Printers are not compatible but if this should change, we will be sure to update.

You can use multiple printers throughout your Restaurant or Cafe but you will need a dedicated Receipt Printer at the front which connects to the cash drawer. The cash drawer plugs into the DK (Drawer Kick) port and will fire automatically once a transaction has been finalised. You can also use the No Sale / Open Cash Drawer button to access the drawer but it still must be connected to the printer. Other printers can be setup on the network to act as an Order Printer which are generally used for Drink and Food orders. The items in SplitAbiliity can be pointed to the desired printer depending on the type of product it is.

There are two printers we recommend.

Epson TM-TM82II-i Intelligent Receipt Printer - The Epson Intelligent Printer is a Cloud POS Receipt Printer which is designed for low to medium print volumes and connects to your network via Ethernet (LAN) cable directly to your wireless router/modem.

Star Micronics mC-Print3 Receipt Printer - The Star mC-Print3 is available in either black or white. It is a faster printer and more compact printer when comparing with the Epson TM-T8II-ii. The mC-Print3 has an IPX2 splash proof design with soft operating switches, raised control board and insect prevention for hospitality applications such as Cafe's or Restaurants.
