All about Shopify Barcode Scanners

When using Shopify POS, you can scan a barcode using a wireless (cordless) barcode scanner. You must ensure that the scanner is a supported Socket Mobile Bluetooth Scanner which pairs directly to your iPad. You can choose from 1D or 2D depending on the barcode type you are scanning but if you wish to choose a scanner that does both, simply go straight for the Socket S740 as this will scan both 1D & 2D from your Shopify Point of Sale Software.

Shopify supported Barcode Scanners include the Socket Mobile 7ci (1D Imager), S700 (1D Imager), S730 (1D Laser - not as popular) and the S740 (1D & 2D Imager). Just so you know what a 2D barcode is - They are a two dimensional barcode which doesn't only contain standard lines like you would see in a supermarket but more so a square barcode. A standard 1D Barcode is numeric only whereas a 2D can have numeric, alphanumeric, byte/binary, and kanji.
